Weekend europeo - Risults

Wafer heading to Memphis?
Wafer’s European agents are working today to rescind his contract with the Greek powerhouse. The 6-foot-5 guard could soon afterwards join the Grizzlies for the rest of the season, the source said.
Wafer’s departure is apparently of mutual agreement. Wafer was due to make $2 million with Olympiakos this year but the team’s coach, Greek legend Panagiotis Giannakis, wasn’t playing him for the last few games. Management didn’t want to have that type of investment sitting on the bench, according to the source, so both sides decided to come to a quick resolution.
Wafer had his best season in the NBA last year with averages of 9.7 ppg and 1.8 rpg.

Hutson to face the music?
According to tuttobasket.net, head coach Nando Gentile is not happy at all about the performance of Andre Hutson both in offense and defense. Hutson has recently been a shadow of his former self and doesn't seem to seem to help Roma in the Euroleague of the LegaA1. Funny enough Hutson has averaged 11.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in 8 games in Italy so far.
A possible candidate that has been named is Sharrod Ford(2.06-PF/C) who is of similar build to Hutson but a player who is more oriented to defense and rebounding rather than scoring. Ford started the season in Russia with Spartak St. Petersburg but was released after head coach Aleksandar Trifunovic resigned. Ford is no stranger to Italy having played for Montegranaro and Virtus Bologna and he has also topped the league in rebounds and blocks more than once!

Kolossos (Greece) replaced Edwards with Monds
Kolossos BC replaced John Edwards(2.11-C) with David Monds(2.03-PF/C)
announced today via the official website of Kolossos BC. John Edwards suffered from a sprained ankle injury and was already sidelined but the reason that he was replaced was that the head coach of Kolossos, coach Sferopoulos, wanted a different type of player in the center position. He wanted a player that could contribute in scoring and so David Monds was signed to help the Greek team reach the playoffs again as they did last season. Monds is a physical player who attacks the basket from close range and will rarely take a shot from long range.
Monds comes from a good season in the NBDL with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds and the Dakota Wizards. He also played briefly in Puerto Rico for Grises de Humacao. His best streak was with Albuquerque where he averaged 13.4 points 6.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 30 games in the NBDL.

Peristeri to sign Nelson and Wilkinson
According to most Greek media the decision has already been taken and the administration of Peristeri will be releasing Will Daniels and Shaun Pruitt due to their lack of performance. Daniels didn't perform as the team expected after a good last season and Shaun Pruitt didn't seem to be adjusting to the Greek League.
Their replacements will be Spencer Nelson and Gary Wilkinson. Nelson played for Aris last season in Greece and Gary Wilkinson started the season in South Korea but it seems that he will be returning to Europe for Peristeri. Nelson has played for Bamberg, Benetton Treviso, Fortitudo Bologna and last season in Aris he averaged 9.4 points 7.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 32 games. Gary Wilkinson graduated from Utah State last season and in South Korea he averaged 9.2 points and 4.1 rebounds in 14 games.
Its worth mentioning here that both Wilkinson and Nelson graduated from Utah State, have the same agent and are both Mormons.
